Grand Theft Auto VI has two confirmed editions. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and includes the full single-player game. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, is digital-only, and adds an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and story-linked content on top of the same base game. Rockstar confirmed both editions and their pricing on June 24, 2026, one day before pre-orders opened on June 25. Anyone who pre-orders or buys either edition before November 20, 2026 also gets the Vintage Vice City Pack at no extra cost. This page covers exactly what's confirmed for each edition, sourced directly from Rockstar's own edition page and Take-Two's official pre-order announcement, for our GTA VI News Hub.

Standard Edition

The Standard Edition is the base game: the full Grand Theft Auto VI single-player story following Jason and Lucia across Vice City and Leonida. It costs $79.99 and is available both digitally and physically. Rockstar has not described any story, mission, or map content that's withheld from Standard Edition buyers. The difference between the two editions is additional bonus vehicles, weapons, apparel, and side activities, not access to the core game.

Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and is digital-only, meaning it is not sold as a physical, boxed product. Per Rockstar's official editions page, it includes everything in the Standard Edition plus an exclusive collection of items that unlock progressively as the story advances, described by Rockstar as content "threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story."

Confirmed Ultimate Edition exclusive content, per Rockstar's official edition page:

  • Vehicles: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, and the Shitzu Squalo, plus additional vehicles available at Jason's Safehouse.
  • Weapons: Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers and additional personalized weapon variants.
  • Style and customization: Vice City-themed style options and the Goodtime Gear outfit pack.
  • Exclusive shops and businesses: Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop, and the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store.
  • Other content: the Ganado Retro Build and Classic Car Collection.

Rockstar's own page does not list a dollar breakdown or per-item pricing for any of this content; it's sold only as part of the $99.99 edition.

The Vintage Vice City Pack: Pre-Order Bonus

Per Take-Two's official pre-order announcement, anyone who pre-orders or purchases Grand Theft Auto VI, in either edition, before November 20, 2026, receives the Vintage Vice City Pack at no additional cost. This is a pre-order incentive, not something exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.

Multiple independent gaming outlets, reporting the same day Rockstar made the announcement, consistently describe the pack's contents as:

  • A '55 Vapid Stanier vintage sedan, stored in the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach.
  • The Shore Court garage itself, including a weapon locker and a place to store stolen goods.
  • Vice City-inspired outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia.
  • A tropical weapon skin pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's signature shirt.

LootVora was not able to directly load Rockstar's own item-by-item breakdown of the pack during this review, so this specific list is sourced to consistent secondary reporting rather than a directly-quoted primary source; the pack's existence and its November 20, 2026 eligibility window are confirmed directly by Take-Two's press release.

Separately, Take-Two's press release also confirms that digital pre-orders through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store include one complimentary month of GTA+.

Platforms and Release Information

Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026. No PC version has been officially announced by Rockstar or Take-Two. For the full release-date history, including two prior delays, see our dedicated GTA VI release date coverage. For a breakdown of what Rockstar has shown of the game itself, see our breakdown of GTA VI's official trailers.

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Digital pre-load, along with pre-load for redeemed physical codes, begins November 12, 2026, per Rockstar's own customer support documentation.

Physical vs. Digital: What Actually Differs

  • Ultimate Edition is digital-only. It is not sold as a physical product on store shelves.
  • The physical release is Standard Edition only, and it does not include a disc. Multiple outlets reporting on Rockstar's own support documentation describe it as a code in a box: buyers get a physical case containing a download code, not a game disc.
  • Physical buyers can reportedly upgrade to Ultimate Edition after launch, by redeeming their download code and then purchasing the upgrade through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. This detail is consistently reported by multiple outlets attributing it to Rockstar's support page, though LootVora could not directly load that page's full text during this review.
  • Whether a true disc-based release will ever exist is unresolved. Some reporting says Rockstar indicated physical disc copies would follow in the months after launch; other reporting says Take-Two has denied plans for a separate disc SKU. Neither company has issued one clear, unambiguous statement resolving this as of this review, so LootVora treats it as unconfirmed rather than reporting either version as fact.

FAQ

Does the Standard Edition include the full GTA VI story? Yes. Rockstar has not described any story, mission, or map content withheld from Standard Edition buyers. The Ultimate Edition's exclusive content is additional vehicles, weapons, apparel, shops, and side activities, not more of the core story.

Can I buy the Ultimate Edition physically, in a store? No. The Ultimate Edition is digital-only. Only the Standard Edition is sold as a physical product, and that physical product contains a download code rather than a disc.

Do I need to buy the Ultimate Edition to get the Vintage Vice City Pack? No. The Vintage Vice City Pack goes to anyone who pre-orders or purchases either edition before November 20, 2026.

Is GTA VI coming to PC? No PC version has been officially announced by Rockstar or Take-Two as of this review.

When does pre-load start? November 12, 2026, for digital pre-orders and for physical pre-order codes that have been redeemed, per Rockstar's official customer support documentation.
